Taking energy and smart cities to the next level

The world is anticipating the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, energy consumption in industry and services is likely to grow. In the longer term, the developing world will increase its energy utilization, leading to growth of global primary energy demand by of 0.4% - 0.6% per year, or a 25% increase by 2050. Housing and urban development are leading this sector.

According to scenarios calculated by energy giant Total SE, massive electrification of transportation will lead to decarbonization, and will require rapid growth in renewables as a source of electricity. This energy transformation will see an explosion of growth in Artificial Intelligence (AI) utilization by up to 50% between 2020 and 2024. This change to smart, 21st century grids will become the gold standard, gradually replacing old “dumb” grids laid down in the 19th and early 20th century in Europe, North America, Japan, China and elsewhere.

PROJECTS

EON Electric Vehicle Conversion System

Our electrical engineers have developed a solution for meeting current and future transportation standards on emissions as set forth by the United States government, an EV Conversion technology that replaces internal combustion engines with electric motors and batteries.

The EON engine technology and power train is contained within a chrome “box” that can, in essence, be dropped into a gas engine compartment. This includes all hookups and interconnections aligned to each system and sub-system maintaining all functionality and operational controls necessary for the automobile. There is no loss in speed or performance during the conversion process. EON is compatible with standard automotive diagnostics tools and equipment.

The target market for this technology are automotive repair shops who service economy automobiles. However, this technology is also available to the individual consumer interested in converting their high end luxury or sports automobile into an electronic vehicle. Old muscle car enthusiasts can keep their 1970’s vintage hot rods by making them fuel efficient without sacrificing horse power. EON provides a range of horse power options, 100hp up to 800hp. EON is also available for use in commercial vehicles, semi-tractor-trailers and construction equipment.

Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (Trimet) Redevelopment Project

As part of a large mass transit revival project in Portland, Oregon the construction of which was originally started in the 1960's, our engineers provided architectural and design services on collaborative public works projects. Artistic, energy efficient, functional and extremely robust, our engineering has truly stood the test of time. Much of our original construction and engineering in Portland is still in operation today.

Led by renown American landscape architect and designer Lawrence Halprin, our engineers collaboratively got together and engineered public use art pieces including a fountain named, "The Car Wash." This massive steel construction was installed in 1977 and is still in operation today functioning as intended. It has a tubular design concept in which water shoots out the face of the fountain in a gentle arc. A wind gauge was installed in the fountain that automatically detects changes in the weather and shuts off the water temporarily on windy days in order to prevent water from hitting pedestrians or nearby street traffic.
